John Simon’s story of getting a hair transplant surgery in India
I am John from UK, a happy go and cheerful guy by temper I am extremely satisfied by hair transplant surgery in India through Tour2india4health, a healthcare group in India. A couple of months before, I went to a tour. I met a person Peter and we became good companions and it was he who took me for an outing to visit the country side. One day I went to fishing near a lake situated at the city side accompanied by peter and we got lucky to catch four aquatic creatures within an hour. He made a bonfire and managed to cook the fish and asked him “when did you get married?” I smiled on hearing this and answered in a grave tone “after I got back my hair.”
The answer seemed to be a ridiculous one to me so he exclaimed “what?” John continued “I married Annie after getting a hair transplant surgery in India.” I jested with him laughingly “so you are leading a married life with artificial hair I didn’t know that, how did you get in trouble of hair loss or I suppose where you bald since the early years of your life?” Peter said “I started experiencing hair problems right from the age of sixteen years, but I didn’t give any heed to it however after four years of completing my graduation I got a job luckily at this hotel and the salary package was also good so my parents suggested me to marry at that time I had no love affair I joined a dating club for finding the right partner for myself my personal profile was an impressive one so I was lucky to meet three girls pretty and well going with their careers, but after date they gave me a cool reply on the question of commencing a relationship, the third one after date clearly stated that my fore head that was undergoing hair loss looked irritating.
Being a sensitive person by nature all this seemed very embarassive to me. I went to a cosmetic hair specialist and narrated my problem to him and the doctor after having a medical scrutiny of my case suggested me to take a hair transplant surgery costing a fee of 1,547 pounds, the fee seemed to me high at that time so I searched for better options for the surgery, finally I got the solution at a less price factor in India through a healthcare group by the name Tour2india4health. I sent an email to Dr. Bojwani, the CEO of the company and he gave me a response through a phone call after few days as I had e-mailed the details of my hair problem to it. He came back with the opinions of best cosmetic surgeons of India. He told me that surgeons found me an ideal candidate for hair transplant surgery. He informed me on phone that the associated surgeons of India are providing the hair transplant surgery at a less exclusive price with the best rated medical and lodging facilities, the people of the that healthcare group told me that there was nothing to worry about the passport or medical visa to India because a medical visa could be easily arranged at the Indian embassy office of the local country or city in which the patient lives. An arrangement was made for me to travel India for hair transplant surgery with the completion of all the documentation procedure by that group and I went there after the two weeks of making the registration. I was made to lodge at a comfortable surgery hospital supplemented with all the medical facilities. Cost of hair transplant surgery in India and a holiday of your dreams could still cost at least 50% cheaper than UK, USA.
In my initial consultation during hair transplant surgery in India, my surgeon evaluated my hair growth and loss, reviewed my family history of hair loss, and find out if I had any previous hair transplant surgery. The surgeon asked me about my lifestyle and discussed my expectations and goals for surgery. Medical conditions that could cause problems during or after surgery, such as uncontrolled high blood pressure, blood-clotting problems, or the tendency to form excessive scars, was checked by my doctor. Be sure to tell your surgeon if you smoke or are taking any drugs or medications, especially aspirin or other drugs that affect clotting. Your surgeon will give you specific instructions on how to prepare for surgery, including guidelines on eating and drinking, smoking, and taking and avoiding certain vitamins and medications. Carefully following these instructions will help your surgery go more smoothly. If you smoke, it’s especially important to stop at least a week or two before surgery; smoking inhibits blood flow to the skin, and can interfere with healing. You should arrange for someone to drive you home after your surgery.
Plan to take it easy for a day or two after the procedure and arrange for assistance if you think you’ll need it. My hair transplantation involved removing small pieces of hair-bearing scalp grafts from a donor site and relocating them to a bald or thinning area. Grafts differed by size and shape. Round-shaped punch grafts usually contained about 10-15 hairs. The much smaller mini-graft contained about two to four hairs; and the micro-graft, one to two hairs. Slit grafts, which were inserted into slits created in the scalp, contained about four to10 hairs each; strip grafts are long and thin and contained 30-40 hairs. Generally, some surgical sessions were needed to achieve satisfactory fullness-and a healing interval of several months was usually recommended between each session. It took up to few months before I saw the final results with a full transplant series. The amount of coverage I needed was partly dependent upon the color and texture of my hair. Coarse, gray or light-colored hair affords better coverage than fine, dark-colored hair. The number of large plugs transplanted in the first session varied with each individual, but the average was about 50. For mini-grafts or micro-grafts, the number can be up to 700 per session. Just before surgery, the “donor area” was trimmed short so that the grafts can be easily accessed and removed. For punch grafts, my doctor used a special tube-like instrument made of sharp carbon steel that punches the round graft out of the donor site so it can be replaced in the area to be covered-generally the frontal hairline. For other types of grafts, my doctor used a scalpel to remove small sections of hair-bearing scalp, which was divided into tiny sections and transplanted into tiny holes or slits within the scalp. When grafts were taken, my doctor periodically injected small amounts of saline solution into the scalp to maintain proper skin strength. The donor site holes was closed with stitches-for punch grafts, a single stitch closed each punch site; for other types of grafts, a small, straight-line scar was in result. The stitches were usually concealed with the surrounding hair. How you feel after surgery depends on the extent and complexity of the procedure. Any aching, excessive tightness or throbbing was controlled with pain medication prescribed by my physician. Bandages were used; they were removed one day later. I gently washed my hair within two days following surgery. Stitches were removed in a week to 10 days. I discussed the possibility of swelling, bruising, and drainage with my surgeon. Because strenuous activity increased the blood flow to the scalp and caused my transplants or incisions to bleed, I was instructed to avoid vigorous exercise and contact sports for at least three weeks. Some doctors also advise that sexual activity be avoided for at least 10 days after surgery. To make sure that my incisions are healing properly, my doctor saw me several times during the first month after surgery. It’s important that you carefully follow any advice you receive at these follow-up visits.
When I was in India for hair transplant surgery I availed the best medical tourism facilities at unbelievably low costs. I got proper medical aid the day I arrived. I got instant high end medical care from team of professional doctors. After the surgery, I left for the return journey to UK after thanking the Dr. Bojwani and his staff that was so cooperative, friendly and entertaining. I also met warmly with the consultants of the medical tourism company who arranged an easy solution to my problem. I got the best results after few months of surgery. After hair transplant surgery in India I met Annie at the dating club and we felt ourselves to be made for each other by the creator and we got married. A hearty thanks to Tour2india4health who relieved me of my trouble through hair transplant surgery in India.”
